TOTTENHAM have rekindled their interest in Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin, according to reports.
The Daily Mail claim Manchester United's signing of Bastian Schweinsteiger has prompted Spurs to dive back in for the Frenchman.
United were understood to be frontrunners for Schneiderlin's signature with Saints admitting his departure was likely. However, the announcement that Schweinsteiger is on his way to Old Trafford has sparked reports that they will no longer be signing the France international.Schneiderlin has previously admitted that he would ideally like to sign for a club competing in the Champions League.
He told French station RMC: "If I leave Southampton, it is for a club that plays better than the Europa League.
"There are ongoing discussions, but nothing is done. But, of course, the Champions League is my goal." However, it is understood that his good relationship with Mauricio Pochettino could be a deciding factor that gives Spurs the edge.
